Re:co Specialty Coffee Symposium announces 2019 speakers

Re:Co has announced its speakers for this year’s coffee symposium on 10 and 11 April in Boston, United States.

This year, the Re:co Specialty Coffee Symposium will be titled Crisis in Coffee: A call and response. It will cover topics such as the macroeconomic dysfunction in the coffee trade, cost of production and profitability for coffee producers, value chains – transparency and market linkages, the role of innovation and technical advancement, and growing consumption.

Re:Co will be a gathering of some of the industry’s greatest minds with experts on sustainability, horticultural science and coffee culture attending the event.

The speakers announced so far include:
• Andrea Olivar, International Programme Manager Coffee for Solidaridad,
• Taya Brown, Doctoral Candidate for Horticultural Sciences at Texas A&M University,
• Michelle Johnson (pictured), Marketing and Coffee Culture at The Chocolate Barista,
• Greg Lowe, Global Head of Resilience and Sustainability at Aon,
• Vanusia Nogueira, Executive Director of the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association, and
• David Browning, Chief Executive Officer at Enveritas.

Re:co says these leaders in the coffee industry recognise that a crisis is underway, its casualties are their partners, and without them, there is no specialty coffee industry.

The focus at Re:co this year is on coming together to learn, collaborate, and act to address this challenge that faces all businesses in specialty coffee.

Additional speakers will be announced in the weeks to come.
