Keurig Dr Pepper donates beverages to support frontline workers

Keurig Dr Pepper has launched its Fueling the Frontline initiative to provide Keurig brewers, coffee, and other beverages to healthcare workers across the United States.

The beverage company calls Fueling the Frontline a way to say thank you to workers for their unwavering commitment and courage.

“It is during times of uncertainty that I am reminded of the tremendous resiliency and generosity of the human spirit. The outbreak of COVID-19 has profoundly changed our lives, our work and the ways we interact with one another. Yet, together, we persevere,” says Robert Gamgort, Chairman and CEO of Keurig Dr Pepper.

“From nurses and doctors to grocery store cashiers and delivery drivers, these essential workers are bravely serving our communities and are true heroes in this pandemic. I am immensely proud of our own frontline employees who are working selflessly to manufacture, distribute and stock store shelves with the essential goods our communities need.”

To date, Keurig Dr Pepper says thousands of breakrooms in about 250 hospitals have been supplied with beverages, and the company expects to donate millions of cups of coffee and thousands of bottled beverages during the coronavirus pandemic.

Hard-hit communities – including New York, New Jersey, Detroit, Seattle, and Los Angeles – as well as hospitals around its co-headquarters of Boston and Dallas Fort-Worth were targeted first.

As part of this initiative, all of Keurig Dr Pepper’s frontline employees will also be gifted their own free brewer and coffee, and all office workers have been asked to gift a free brewer to an essential worker of their choosing. The company says it feels an enormous responsibility to protect and reward its employees as a business providing essentials to consumers nationwide.

All of its 26,000 workers remain employed and Keurig Dr Pepper continues to hire, with over 1100 open positions.
